You are the son of a great and prosperous kingdom and it is time for you to become heir to the throne of your father.
There is a problem though. You aren't his only son.

In order to decide who will be the next heir and sit on the throne to rule over your fathers kingdom, he proposes a test.
Both you and your brother will build your own kingdoms and whoever's is greater shall not only keep their own kingdom but gain their fathers throne as well.

With that, both you and your brother set off to take a plot of land and turn it into a great kingdom.
Will you prove to your father that you deserve the throne or will your brother Gary build his kingdom first?

You begin by building a humble house for yourself and attracting citizens. More citizens means more hands to help in the building of your kingdom. It's not that simple though. Citizens need housing and food. You as the king of this growing kingdom will need to gather materials by mining for ore and cutting down trees among other things. You'll use these materials to build different buildings depending on the purposes you need.

Citizens need a place to live so you'll need to build houses for them.
They also need food so you'll need to build storehouses in order to store the food you'll gain.
In order to gain food you'll need to build a farm.

Building multiples of each building will give you greater amounts of those things.
More houses means more citizens, more farms and storehouses means more food.
Don't run out of food or you and your citizens will starve.

More building types and features are planned for the future.
Maybe you'd like to train as a Soldier or Hunter?
Surrounding kingdoms are bound to see your growth as a threat.
Perhaps bandits who covet what is yours will begin to make attempts on your life and that of your citizens.
You'll need Soldiers protecting your gates.

With soldiers defending your kingdom and bandits seeking to take what's yours, you will no doubt suffer injuries.
You'll definitely need a physician to heal those wounds.

What do you think of these planned features?
Do you have others you'd like to see?
Let me know in the comments.

For a JAM game, this is very feature packed!

It was a little confusing to start off (a slower start with better tutorial would be neat), but otherwise the concept is great (and the execution of said concept might not be perfect, but at least "very good").

Being able to upgrade the workers and invest money into the shop gave the game some much appreciated additional depth. Although, it wasn't well explained how how the underlying system worked here either so I never really understood how that worked. Never really fully grasped how the day/night system worked either, although I suspect it was simply on a real time clock?

In any case, nice entry into Drifty's annual JAM.

The day/night cycle is based on your Stamina. As it decreases, the day progresses.
